Analysis of a Music Video

The music video which i am going to analyse is "Opposite Of Adults" by Chiddy Bang.

The narrative of the music video is about the artist going back to his childhood and recapping things from the past, the lyrics illustrate that the artist grew up in a rough neighbourhood but then ended up being a star in the music industry. The genre for this particular music video is hip hop, this is because hip hop consist of rap and DJing.

The media language used in this music video consist of enlargements on the heads of the actors, this effect/edit is used to make the actor look younger, so that the audience can see what life must have been for the artist as a child. The effects in this video make the video look more appealing to the viewer and have a big connection with the lyrics in the song as the artist goes back to his childhood. In the video there are many features of edit which make the video look cool, the rewinds and flickers when the artists are doing skills on their skateboard. In my personal opinion the effects make this video look very modern and in a way amusing and entertaining as it brings you/ the audience back to your childhood.

The video produces a representation that the artist is a child and in most of the video the artist is shown with a big head, this imposes the effect that he is a child. the artist is in a cardboard knight costume in one scene this also supports the statement that he is a child playing sword fights with friends.
