The video that i chose to analyse was Everybody's fool by Evanesence
The narrative of this rock/pop video is the girl character has lost her identity due to her modelling and T.V career. She feels lost in a world of lies where nothing is as it seems and she just wants to get away from it all.Repsentation here shows that the character is weak as the majority of the time in the video she is crying or looking depressed. This song has a deep message about mind control, about how media uses celebrities to control the minds of the audience and the celebrities themself are just a puppet who follow orders and are more sad and depressed than meets the eye.
The media language used in this music video consist of close up's and editting into different scenes which look completely opposite to the previous for example moving from a bright coloured and happy looking scene to a moody, dark and depressed enviroment. This works very well as it tells the characters story from different points of er life and it shows her from her best to her ultimate worst, it speaks her feelings. The mirror which she hits and shatters work very well as it looks very realistic and dynamic.
